The winner is the weekend of June 11/12.

Hmm. I just looked up the average monthly temps for Branson.

Apparently, June is not that bad at 75 degrees.

Good. I was a bit worried.

It is actually not as hot there in June as it is in Ohio in June.

I guess its the mountains.

I can tell you one thing, peeps, I have no objections to future meet-up places being in Arizona or Tampa, but the dates are going to have to be in the winter.

Okay, I am officially taking the rest of this year off from dealing with this meet-up.

You all have the date and place and can start planning your lives accordingly.

Remember, lodging and transportation is for you to figure out.

I will come around in early January and start bugging people about giving me an idea of who is planning to make it and who can offer assistance in finding a meeting room to rent based on who lives close to Branson, who has contacts in Branson, or who is a VFW or Eagles member or whatever and can look into contacting posts and lodges in and or around Branson.

Those of you who are going to Branson next year and will be taking Route 44 out of St. Louis can visit Uranus.

I do not know if I am going to make the Branson trip or not due to having to clean out my father’s house and needing to use a lot of my time off from work for that.

I was originally going to make this a 2-week trip and include stops in Oklahoma and Kansas (because I have never been to those states) and to the diamond mine in Arkansas and Little Rock, but that part is out. I can’t take that much time off.

I might decide I need a vacation and just stick with going to Branson for a few days and only Branson. I have reservations that don’t have to be cancelled for a full refund until 48 hours before the first night of my stay, so I may as well hold on to them to see how things materialize.

Even if the house cleanup is going well, I may not make the trip if gas is going to be 7 bucks a gallon by then, but that is true of many people who are planning trips.

I am not going to have time to plan an event for us and book a meeting room, but I doubt enough people are going to go to make this necessary. We probably just could meet at a restaurant for a meal or agree on a certain show to see together or sightseeing trip or something like that instead.
