Turned out to be a worn/defective link for the anti-sway bar. I just swapped it for a new one tonight after work.

Sway to go.

20-hour drive from Tucson. It looks like it should be a family trip. It goes past White Sands, through Roswell, then onto Amarillo, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa (my mother-in-law has fond memories of all three), then the Cherokee Nation (MIL is on the rolls), and then we’re in Branson. Could be fun.

I plan to be there in any case.

That’s going to be for you like the trip to S.D. was for me.

While enjoyable, I’m looking forward to a shorter drive, not as many tempting places to stop, and a nice 7-day or more stay in one place.

I’m not looking forward to the overnight stays in Effingham.

Really hoping to make this one! Our senior rescue died 2 weeks ago.

I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you can make it. Don’t you live closer to Branson anyway?

Note: One of my ideas for a “session” at a meet-up was to have a session on the history of the FR Q Threads.

Marking here that on the July 11, 2021 thread we took a trip down memory lane on past threads and different people posted past threads they found, one such one below.

Okie City is not that far. I may try to do this one. My last freep meetup was in DC, many years ago.

Have I missed a new thread? This seems to have stopped around 8ish

No, I have no plans to abandon this thread for use in discussing the meet-up. It just isn’t a very active thread.

It all revolves around my work schedule, but if my time off matches the trip, I’ll most likely be there.

Things to Do in Branson

Branson looks to be a little bit like Disneyworld without the hidden Luciferianism and pedophilia.

Wow, I was just reviewing the history of the meet-up portion of this thread, starting at #2496, and see that not only did a few people vote last year for Branson or St. Louis, a few also voted for Kansas City. Missouri really was a fairly close second to South Dakota.

Hmm. Maybe it means Missouri or it’s governor is about to do something to distinguish itself.

The tour guide told me that so many people went to South Dakota last year and still now in the wake of Noem’s refusal to pass ‘rona rules that the locals are like, “Enough already. We don’t have room for you all in hotels.”

Between September 1 and September 15, we will vote on the weekend in June 2022 that the meet up will take place.

Here are the possibilities and their issues:

June 4 and 5 - Right after Memorial Day

June 11 and 12 - Graduations?

June 18 and 19 - Father’s Day and Juneteenth, which now
is a federal holiday

June 25 and 26 - The weekend before the 4th of July
weekend

See elsewhere in the thread as to why the month for this is June.

I’m basing this on my work schedule, which may or may not apply by June...

Preferred - June 25-26
Secondary - June 18-19

Seems like a very interesting, outdoorsy area.

June 25-26

Thanks for taking this on!

This is the official start of the Freeper Q Thread 2022 Meet-up planning.

The meet-up will be in Branson, Missouri in June.

The possible dates are:

June 4 and 5

June 11 and 12

June 18 and 19 (The 19th is Juneteenth, a new federal holiday, so it will be a long weekend for some. It is also Father’s Day.)

June 25 and 26

If you have any interest in joining us and there is good a possibility you can make it, you may vote for one of these weekends between now and September 15th. As long as you have posted at least three non-troll posts on a Q thread prior to today, you can vote.

See prior posts on this warehousing/meet-up discussion thread for why Branson is the location and why we are not voting on a location this year. The short answer is that Branson came in second in our vote last year.

Got to post #2497 on this thread if you want to read about the history of the Freeper Q Thread Meet-up. It may seem like a lot of posts to go through, but it will only take 1/4 the time as reading through the same number of posts on an active Q thread. For one thing, there are hardly any links. For another, a lot of the discussion is about the meet-up that took place earlier this year.

One vote per person. Please only vote for one weekend. Whichever weekend gets the most votes by midnight Sept. 15th wins.
