25 Jul: Deadline Hollywood: Facebook Asked To Justify Infowars And Fox News TCA (Television Critics Association)
by Dawn C. Chmielewski
Facebook faced renewed questions about its handling of noted conspiracy site InfoWars, and its decision to place Fox News alongside other news organizations at a time when the social media site has launched an initiative to combat misinformation...
Another questioner asked Facebook why it features Fox News alongside other news organizations on its Watch platform. A chorus of Hollywood critics including Paul Feig (20th Century Foxs Spy, The Heat), Family Guys Seth MacFarlane, director Judd Apatow and Modern Family co-creator Steve Levitan recently spoke out against the cable news networks coverage of the Trump administrations immigration policies, specifically the separation of migrant families at the border.
The trigger was FNC host Laura Ingraham who called child detention centers at the U.S.-Mexico border summer camps.
I think we have limited time, responded Ricky Van Veen, head of global creative strategies, as he attempted to deflect the question. Fidji and I are not in the news....
Amid shouts of answer the question, Simo raised it as a question of fairness.
We are really trying to show a range of programming that shows a range of the political spectrum, Simo said.
And no, Simo said, there have been no celebrity defections from Facebook Watch in protest over Fox News.

18 Apr 2016: NBC: Bad News: Just 6 Percent of People Say They Trust the Media
by Associated Press
Just 6 percent of people say they have a lot of confidence in the media, putting the news industry about equal to Congress and well below the public’s view of other institutions. In this presidential campaign year, Democrats were more likely to trust the news media than Republicans or independents...
Faced with ever-increasing sources of information, Americans also are more likely to rely on news that is up-to-date, concise and cites expert sources or documents, according to a study by the Media Insight Project, a partnership of The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and the American Press Institute...
The poll shows that accuracy clearly is the most important component of trust...
The news media have been hit by a series of blunders on high-profile stories...

19 Apr 2016: Investors Business Daily editorial: Only 6% Trust Media, But It Should Be Less
There is no incongruity in the fact that a new poll conducted by the Media Insight Project, a joint project of the American Press Institute and the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, finds the American media’s popularity way down with that of Washington politicians. With 2,014 adults surveyed, only 6% expressed a lot of confidence in the press...
The public knows very well that most of the leading political reporters are not the intrepid crusaders for truth they claim to be, and whom Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman played in “All the President’s Men,” but rather ideological warriors devoted to one side winning and the other losing...
The Media Insight poll found that close to 90% of Americans consider it extremely important or very important that journalists get their facts right. As in RatherGate and so many other cases, the media not only get the facts wrong but also use them as political weapons.

DiFaggio is a Nazi ...
Isnt that the parade at which there were several reports of unwanted fondling and sexual assault a few years ago?
No, that was the Puerto Rican parade, for which the residents of Fifth Avenue have to build fences around their trees.
It was called swarming.
It caused Giuliani to institute a no-alcohol rule at parades and street fairs, and the Italians ended the St. Anthony Feast because of this. One of the few things he ever did that I disapproved of.
“Don’t taze me bro!!”
I like it!
