Because everyone cares what a bunch of radical, liberal, socialist college kids thinks...I digress

1. An feeble attempt to support Bernie's and Ocasio-Cortez's push for $32,000,000,000,000 health care for all. The same system that Bernie's state tried and realized that it wasn't possible. Some libs say it was never implemented. Governor at the time said he couldn't see spending $4.3 billion, in a state with a budget of $4.9 billion. So, basically taxes would have to double to support the program. Yet, so many libs said it could have worked. Liberal policy wonks and academics who have never had to meet a payroll. And when folks started leaving Vermont for New Hampshire or Maine, due to the doubling of their taxes, tax base gets lower, less money, then what? And lets not forget about all the folks that would move there for the free health care but won't be able to pay any taxes.

2. AMA...one of the biggest supporters of Liberals/Academics, etc, in the country.

3. Kaiser...if I'm not mistaken was one of the first HMOs, working with the clinton's that brought on this mess we call healthcare

4. Doctors leaving the field because of obamacare ... https://www.centerforhealthjournalism.org/2014/03/10/whether-it%E2%80%99s-retire-or-flee-doctors-are-leaving-health-care

I can’t blame the doctors for considering this. They stopped working for their patients years ago, and they probably figure they’d rather work for the government than for insurance companies.

Re: Doctors Embrace Single Payer

Probably because half of our doctors are foreign born or female.

It’s really hard to get fired or sued if you are a government employee or contractor.

I have a lot of doctor friends. ALL of them fought hard against Obamacare in their own ways. The last thing any of these doctors would want is single payer. Especially in California.

When Obamacare was first passed the doctor I’d been going to for a 13 years was faced with the decision to give up practicing medicine or give up the dozen clinics he owned. Obamacare would not allow both. he kept and managed his dozen clinics and stopped practicing medicine. I had to find another doctor.

Single payer will mean Medicaid for all. Not Medicare (which has its own problems). Politically fashionable conditions will get preferred treatment. Everything else will be rationed with increasing severity. The wealthy will go abroad for timely care. The open question is how the political class will carve out a special high quality system for itself, because the nomenklatura will not accept the shabbiness imposed on the rest of us.

When the American Medical Association — one of the nation’s most powerful health care groups — met in Chicago this June, its medical student caucus seized an opportunity for change.

...

Medical students, not doctors.

The headline is Fake News.

The rest of the doctors want to get on the same government gravy train that the Medicare scam doctors are on. Having direct access to the US Treasury is very tempting.

Socialized medicine is coming.

It will be the Millennial Generation's grand "Screw You!" to their Boomer parents for dropping a giant s*** sandwich of debt on them.

"Sorry, mom about that five year wait for heart surgery but at least the broken arm my kid got falling off his bike won't bankrupt me."

A very small percentage of doctors belong to the AMA. Every analysis of single payer states that the money paid to health care providers would have to be cut to the bone as an effort to contain the massive costs of such a plan. And the doctors are for this? Yeah, right.

you’d love Communism if you only knew what it was - Jane Fonda

Now in our country under our free-enterprise system we have seen medicine reach the greatest heights that it has in any country in the world. Today, the relationship between patient and doctor in this country is something to be envied any place. The privacy, the care that is given to a person, the right to chose a doctor, the right to go from one doctor to the other.

But let’s also look from the other side. The freedom the doctor uses. A doctor would be reluctant to say this. Well, like you, I am only a patient, so I can say it in his behalf. The doctor begins to lose freedoms, it’s like telling a lie. One leads to another. First you decide the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government, but then the doctors are equally divided geographically, so a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him he can’t live in that town, they already have enough doctors. You have to go some place else. And from here it is only a short step to dictating where he will go.

This is a freedom that I wonder if any of us has a right to take from any human being. I know how I’d feel if you my fellow citizens, decided that to be an actor I had to be a government employee and work in a national theater. Take it into your own occupation or that of your husband. All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man’s working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it’s a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay and pretty soon your son won’t decide when he’s in school where he will go or what he will do for a living. He will wait for the government to tell him where he will go to work and what he will do.

In this country of ours, took place the greatest revolution that has ever taken place in the world’s history; the only true revolution. Every other revolution simply exchanged one set of rulers for another. But here, for the first time in all the thousands of years of man’s relations to man, a little group of men, the founding fathers, for the first time, established the idea that you and I had within ourselves the God given right and ability to determine our own destiny. This freedom was built into our government with safeguards. We talk democracy today, and strangely, we let democracy begin to assume the aspect of majority rule is all that is needed. The “majority rule” is a fine aspect of democracy provided there are guarantees written in to our government concerning the rights of the individual and of the minorities.

What can we do about this? Well, you and I can do a great deal. We can write to our congressmen and to our senators. We can say right now that we want no further encroachment on these individual liberties and freedoms. And at the moment, the key issue is, we do not want socialized medicine.

- Ronald Reagan

“Single payer” would make all doctors and hospitals Federal employees. The Federal government would have total and complete control over who lives and who dies. Once you reach “retirement” age or can no longer work, you’re out of here. “You’ve had a great life. Adios compadre.”

This is propaganda. Doctors still hate socialist medicine. They hate Obamacare, which is socialist lite.

AMA has been taken over by extreme leftists! They do not represent doctors. They represent Karl Marx.

socialized medicine:

Egalitarianism + price controls + bureaucratization =

-increased aggregate demand for medical services
-increased total costs, waste, and inefficiency
-decreased supply of doctors = shortages of doctors
-decreased quality and quantity of medical services for each individual patient (rationing)
-decreased value of each individual patient to a provider
-enslavement of doctors
-death panels
-decreased technological advances and decreased technological progress in medicine.

I am not surprised. ALL our youth have been indoctrinated into Socialism. Why is anyone surprised that young doctors would embrace single-payer? The problem is....they have never lived under the Socialist single-payer system.....they will rue the day they embraced Socialized medicine if it actually becomes our healthcare model.
