A close friend of mine who is a state prison administrator told me that over 40% of the long term inmates in his prison were in a state mental institution before they were closed.
Yep, we sent them to prisons or the streets. The state declared their programs worked, gave themselves a raise and closed the books. Basically what happened.
Georgia seems to full of commies, black racists and just plain batshit crazy people. Is there something in their peaches that is doing this?
IF they are a harm to others, yes. They should receive appropriate treatment, whatever that treatment may be.

want to take care of the homeless problem....have long term holding for the severely mentally ill... I suffer from mental illness myself and if I ended upon the street it would be a slow descent into madness as each week I got more sick. when someone is mentally ill as those who end up on the street they are unable to make decisions for them selves and unless family steps in they wont be able to get off the street on there own
Of course not. But schizophrenics who sleep in alleys because they have no other alternative, would probably benefit from a long-term stay in a psychiatric hospital.
