As an Army Brat in Yokohama in the 1950s, us kids liked to visit some of the many sand stone caves dug by the Japanese in the last months of the war.
Some were quite low entry. Others could park a tank inside.

Several of the low caves were inside the military dependents housing areas and one day, a kid got hurt and had to be dug out by the MPs.
The very next day, a Japanese crew arrived with small cement mixers and filled in the “hole in the hill.”

Guessing that the reason they don’t continue the rescue is because they have a limited number of SEALs that are slender enough to not get stuck in the tight space.

When the water level is low enough tomorrow, 13 more slender SEALS will attempt to get 4-5 more out of the cave. Repeat.

Small stature has proven to be a life-saver in this dire situation.

Small stature has proven to be a life-saver in this dire situation.
So it appears, however, had they all been six foot six and 225 pounds, perhaps they wouldn't have gotten into this situation.

FNC just reported that all oxygen tanks were used for the four boys who are out. Now, they have to replace the tanks so that’s taking time.

Also, the time getting each out is taking less time but didn’t say how many hours.

Prayers to any entity that will help.

Not even for the sake of political correctness. Sorry, no.

I certainly don’t disparage anyone who’s been praying for the rescue of these boys, regardless of to whom they have been praying. Speaking personally, my thanks go to the brave men who have been risking their lives to save these boys, and to thousands who have been sacrificing their time and money on this rescue operation.

These are probably the strongest of the kids, the rest need our prayers most.

So far so good. It sounds like they were able to pump more of the water out before they started, and the boys are not having to do as much diving, which is a blessing.

“What I did on my summer vacation...”

Those boys, and I hope they all get out alive, will have one heck of a tale to tell.

“I would hate to be that coach.”

Not really. He doesn’t control the floods or rain.

We prayed for the mission before the service started this morning and signaled when each group was announced free (auto notification on cell phone). Much praise and more prayers.

It is possible that what happened to that hero SEAL gave valuable information used in the safe rescue of some of the boys already. I am sure that those leading the rescue effort thought that the deceased man had enough oxygen for his time in the cave. All the people going into that cave are true heroes.

The EMT/stretcher carrier appears to be shooing someone out of the way. Maybe they have annoying press critters there who would impede the progress of getting a rescued boy to an ambulance or helicopter just so they could get a picture.

Supposedly there is one spot that is reportedly only 15 inches wide. Scuba tanks have to be removed in that location. I have seen and read this more than once. It is described as now wider than three snickers bars.
