Middletown, Ohio--Police are warning residents not to post photos of "huge sums of money" on social media after three recent home invasions, Journal-News reports.
Middletown, Ohio has seen a "spike" in home invasions according to a post on the department's Facebook page.
A common factor in some of the cases is victims who posted photos of large sums of cash on social media or showed the cash to friends, police told Journal-News.
"if you find yourself in possession of a large sum of money do not pose with the money so others can share the joy you are feeling because of your good fortune; one of the viewers could become jealous and decide to take the money away," the department wrote on Facebook.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of really stupid people out there?
We recently got a check for about $750, reimbursement for an auto repair that was covered under a Toyota recall. Should I convert it into $5 bills and post a picture on Instagram?
Who ARE these people?
D-uh
NO. Convert it into a choke a horse roll of ones, sandwiched between a pair of $100 dollar bills.
"LOOK AT ME!"
Oh, of course! LOL!
That is so true.
Duh
My bestest buddy is a prince in Nigeria and he really needs someone to send his millions to before the militia comes to take it away.
If you send him $750.00 to help with shipping, he’ll send you 50 millions!
Send that money to:
Grimmy
C/O Free Republic.
I’ll see it gets to my buddy, the Prince of Nigeria!
I have a lot of extra t-shirts he can have.
Didn’t fall for it, huh?
What’d I do wrong? Not enough spelling/grammar errors to sound foreigny?
I heard a story that folks were posting pictures of themselves on social media eating at expensive restaurants and their ‘social media friends’ were going to the restaurant, breaking into their car and taking their garage door openers. Then they would drive to the poster’s house and open the garage door if they had an attached garage and rob the crap out of them. Don’t know if it’s true, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
Freegards
First get a pile of movie money in packs and rolls (Amazon) and load it into a backpack, then post the picture of the open backpack with the money and “Hey, just found this”
“Who ARE these people?”
Odds are they are “Obamas sons”. Posing with a pistol in one hand and cash in the other is a staple of the Gangsta culture.
Will do. But can we meet on a street corner somewhere, and make the exchange? Craigslist?
The distibution of IQs is normal. Someone has to be on the left side. Voila!
It’s in the mail!
