I saw him play at The Coffee Pot in Roanoke, Virginia on my 18th birthday in 1984. He could bend the strings.

I think his credentials were established long before the Blues Brothers and I suppose RS used that to peak interest in the younger crowd

What an iconic movie. Have to see it at least once a year.
Sad that people under 40 may not even know The Blues Brothers. This year I asked a young (23) relative if he’d seen The Blues Brothers and when he said no, I said he should. He said only if I watch Titanic. NO DEAL. LOL.

"We're putting the band back together". RIP MR. Murphy. How Elwood managed to keep a straight face whenever he said "We're on a mission from G-D" was worth the price of admission.☺

God bless him. Lived to 88 in a world not too conducive for such a thing. Probably a lead a happy, filled life. RIP.

RIP and God Bless him.
BB is one of my all time most favorite movies. It is very near and dear to my heart and all the songs too. Like others said here, still try to watch it at least once a year - at LEAST!
