A football game is an entertainment event. The football player are entertainers.
The paying crowd is paying be ENTERTAINED - not to be insulted.
You want to protest??? - doing it on YOUR OWN TIME.
I completely agree 2banana, but I will take it a step further...
IMO the paying public is getting pissed, and it is showing at the box office, the stadium, and associated venues that also make money off of movies, shows, and sporting events. Eventually the trickle down theory is taking hold, and its hurting in ways that affect the bottom line and their salaries.
Next, for the forward thinkers in the crowd, is the upcoming Olympics. If the athletes representing the US, decide to use this venue to protest, and be anything OTHER than a Grateful participant, happy to represent their Nation, it is my hope that they be told beforehand, if they violate their oath of allegiance at any time prior to, or during the games, they immediately be removed from competition.
I hope the President makes a stand on this issue.
It is a little known fact that the US government significantly supports the Olympic games https://www.gao.gov/products/GGD-00-183
So, in order to get that funding, behavior guidelines, should be strictly adhered to, and violation of those guidelines, be treated seriously, and quickly.
Its gonna happen, we all know it, hopefully this is dealt with early, and the rules of the road be clearly understood by all participants...again, JMO.
The damn NFL has enjoyed tax exempt status as a 501 C non profit since 1966. No other sport has such a deal. This occurred when the NFL and AFL merged. These owners damn sure owe this country serious taxes.
