These NFL player either do not know just how offensive this kneeling is to people who took the oath and went into harms way under that flag. Or they do know how offensive it is and just get a vicarious thrill insulting people they really hate. Either way in the final analysis they are entertainers. If the totality of their act ends up alienating paying customers and costs their employers money, then their services will be in less demand.
Giving this President a black eye is what it's about... KNOWING he can't easily respond to them directly without descending to THEIR level.

This kneeling thing was mindless performance art designed by these leftist jerks, and enabled by the liberal elite and its slobbering media lapdogs, to insult us to our faces by committing an act of calculated disrespect to our country and to the Normal Americans who built it, feed it, and protect it.
They wanted to rub our faces in their contempt, to laugh at us as we had to endure it, humiliated by our own powerlessness. We were supposed to just sit there and take it. We are never supposed to use our own power to fight back.

I don’t accept the premise that the American flag
represents racist cops. We can debate which cops and
which actions are racist but there was a war and civil
rights conflicts which settled which side our flag is on.
Does anybody think that those fans who pay hundreds of
dollars for tickets and team gear glorifying black
players on predominantly black teams are also big
fans of racist cops? Why must the players insult those
fans by disrespecting the flag they honor? Instead,
why don’t they invite those fans to protest with them
at the courthouse or police station?

The football players probably committed their act of disrespecting the flag not on the basis of any lengthy soul-searching / serious reflection.
Rather, they did it because they were advised to do so by "friends" who couldn't care less about the repercussions to their careers.
