Former Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards said women are dependent on abortion for their freedom because, without it, they cannot control their own bodies.
“If you can’t control your own body, you are not free,” Richards said. “That is a fundamental issue, and I don’t think we can, like, make any bones about that.”
Richards was interviewed by former Daily Show correspondent Jessica Williams, reports MRC NewsBusters’ Katie Yoder, who also notes the unlisted YouTube video of the interview.
The former head of America’s largest abortion vendor has been promoting her new book, Make Trouble, since she stepped down from her post on May 1.
“We are seeing, I believe, the last gasp of the patriarchy in this country,” Richards said, charging the Trump administration with promoting the notion “that somehow they’re going to take women back to the 1860s.”

The reason they need abortions is because they can’t control their bodies.
Humans are not supposed to be free from their own children.
I know it’s anecdotal, but in my life the women have always been in charge of, or have the final say in whether there would be sex or not.
None of them needed to kill babies to have that control, either.

Neither can Richards "make any bones about" needing to explain just why "controlling" one's own body does not, in her mind, include the exercise of restraint in the act of creating another life--a life which, by the way, is not a "part" of her own body, nor even her own DNA.
Scientific knowledge and technology have combined in this age to refute her specious claim.

Yes her statement starts with the premise that women will just automatically be sexually active all the time. This is a given with such a mindset.
If women avoid certain actions, they will have control, because there’s no chance of an unwanted or unplanned pregnancy in such cases.
So if the issue is a woman having control over her own personal reproduction, women have that control.
So she is full of it, on this specific aspect of the abortion debate.
