Michelle Obama Recounts "Scary" Time at Princeton with College Throwback Photo (barf alert)

While it's hard to imagine Michelle Obama decorating a dorm or cramming for final exams, turns out she was once a regular Princeton University student studying sociology and African American studies. First Ladies, they're just like us!

Obama recently took a trip down memory lane via Instagram, sharing a snap of herself between classes. Clad in a jean jacket with school bag slung over her shoulder, she looks like modern day #OutfitInspo. But in the caption, she got candid.

"michelleobama: This is me at Princeton in the early 1980s. I know that being a first-generation college student can be scary, because it was scary for me. I was black and from a working-class neighborhood in Chicago, while Princeton’s student body was generally white and well-to-do. I’d never stood out in a crowd or a classroom because of the color of my skin before. But I found close friends and a mentor who gave me the confidence to be myself. Going to college is hard work, but every day I meet people whose lives have been profoundly changed by education, just as mine was. My advice to students is to be brave and stay with it. Congratulations to the Class of 2018!"

Scared? Id’ say it was insecurity, because she knew she was gifted with a place there that she academically did not deserve.

Were there any White people in her African American studies class? BTW, I don't think they were called "African Americans" back then. Jesse Jackson hadn't come up with that name yet.

Oh, boo-hoo-hoo! I’m twenty minutes from Princeton and shop there every other day. It is the most liberal, wealthy, laid-back community you can imagine. It IS lily white but a kind of lily white that would just love to give a black girl an “A” in class and take her home for dinner.

She was a slacker like her husband who got where she got through AA and being in the right place at the right time.

...studying sociology and African American studies.

The usual farcical black curriculum. No wonder she's a boring idiot.

Sociology and AA studies....two of the easiest degrees a person could enroll in college.

Where was this picture during the last ten years of our intensive search for validity about the obamas ?

How many more will NOW show up, "See, I'm not a tranny"

There ya go! Great advice. Don't be a wimpering, simpering victim all the time demanding "justice" and "reparations" and what-all.

Look at what she took. Let’s face it. She played the race card to get into Princeton.

She looks the same goofy cute hillary did at that age.

We men of age can read a lot into photos and what a person says about themselves.

She identifies herself by the color of her skin.

She mentions close friends and a mentor.

She doesn't identify them by skin color.

Could it be her helpful and caring friends and mentor were white?

Remember, “she” was never proud of the country who sent her to that school.
