It’s no longer Star Wars, it’s Disney.
Still the best of them all. Always will be.

When Disney bought the franchise, they turned it from "In 'n Out" to "MacDonald's", IMHO. I had trouble with the "new" Storm Troopers in "Farce". That guy did NOT look like Bobba Fett, who I thought was the model for the cloned troops. Then the anti-male, SJW tripe in "Lost Jedi". No wonder Luke self-exiled to the mountains!
I did like "Rogue 1", it had more of the old Spielberg/Lucas feel than any of the other movies since "Return of the Jedi". Plus, it was a better run-up to "New Hope" than the POS passed off as "Revenge of the Sith".
Unfortunately, don't expect Disney to lose money on the series. With their endless stream of merchandising tie-ins and toys, games and other goodies for kids to hound their parents into buying, they'll make more than their money back in the long run.
I have been a Stars Wars fan since the beginning.
A New Hope was fantastic (to my 15 year old self).
The Empire Strikes back was great, but I was upset at the cliffhanger ending.
Return of the Jedi raised questions about George Lucas. Ewoks? Really?
Then came the prequel trilogy. Kinda fun, but not really up to the quality of the original three. Jar Jar was an embarrassment. The acting was poor. There was no chemistry.
I had great hopes for the final trilogy. I hoped for the quality of the story of the early movies combined with modern special effects. Instead I got liberal SJW crap wrapped in a blanket of really good special effects.
I won’t even comment on Rogue One.
Hollyweird has lost it’s way and can’t help but preach their gospel of perversion every chance they get.
I will watch Solo when it comes out on digital download. It is worth (maybe) the $5.95 rental. Maybe.

That's based on one of the writers' feelings about the character. Doubtful anything suggesting such a thing will even be in the movie.
35 year Star Wars fan here. I have always loathed the Solo character. He was a one-dimensional space cowboy who was-IMO- totally extraneous to the storyline. Had Greedo killed him in the cantina, Chewie would have done all he did. Add to that the fact that I generally hate scowling,smirking, egotistical men and Harrison Ford( and I know he isn’t in this film) in particular I wouldn’t see the Solo( or any other Disney SW film) if I was paid.

I agree Rogue 1 was a better film. It had a great old school look and feel and a story line consistent with canon. But even there they had to have the heroes be female and/or minorities. The white guys are the bad guys.
That is SW from now on, whenever possible. I expect solo to somehow make his background a perfect SJW storyline.

I got off the Star Wars bus right after Revenge of the Sith.
Looking back, I should have gotten off the boss after the Tatooine sequence in Return of the Jedi.
No more Star Wars for me. It’s just boring.
‘Rogue One’ was great. ‘Solo’ and ‘Kenobi’ look great. But ‘Last Jedi’ was one of the worst films I’ve ever seen. They should have just stuck with the prequels. By screwing up the sequels SO badly, they are seriously harming the financial prospects for these new prequels.
I hope Billy D finds the Director & actor, and beats them with a Colt 45 bottle...
In "Star Wars" Luke Skywalker was the bestest and feircest jedi ever without even knowing what the force is, like Rey was in Force Awakens. So that's a big difference. In the "Empire Strikes Back" Luke gets trained by Yoda and still gets his ass handed to him by Darth Vader. I'm guessing in "Last Jedi" Rey is so powerful that she reverses time and reanimates the dead or something even more absurd. Woo hoo, You go girl!

Let's examine the evidence: She has never left her planet but somehow flies the Millennium Falcon as well as Han Solo and even shows him a few tricks. She's never seen or heard of the jedi mind trick but she successfully uses it anyway. She gets in a battle of force will power over a lightsaber with a guy who was trained for years and she beats him, with the weapon flying to her. Then she uses it to defeat him in a duel. Finally she flies off with Chewbacca but since she's such an awesome pilot he lets her have Han's chair because he knows that his decades of piloting experience don't measure up to her experience of a couple of minutes. She's better than everyone, she knows it, and she acts accordingly but everyone loves her anyway because she's just that awesome even when she's being snarky or bossy.
What's the issue, seems logical to me. If I were the main character it's how I would do it all. Oh wait, that's the definition of Mary Sue, isn't it. Well shoot.
