Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz says he has finished his long-awaited report detailing his review of the FBI and DOJs Hillary Clinton investigation during the 2016 presidential election.
In a letter to members of Congress on Wednesday, Horowitz does not say when the review will be officially released to the FBI, DOJ and congressional committees.
But the inspector general said he has provided a draft report to the Department and the FBI, and requested that they review it to identify any information that should be protected from disclosure.
A portion of the report on McCabe had already been released to Congress.
In November, Horowitz said his team has interviewed dozens of people and had reviewed about 1.2 million records in the course of its investigation. He said his team was looking at whether certain underlying investigative decisions were based on improper considerations.
The review also looked at whether the Justice Departments assistant attorney general for legislative affairs improperly disclosed non-public information to the Clinton campaign and should have been recused. Thats in reference to official Peter Kadzik, who had been an attorney in the past for Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta.
Horowitz has said the review is looking at whether any DOJ or FBI employees improperly disclosed non-public information.
The review has already made a splash.

Will Rosenweasel allow Alfred E. Sessions to read it
since Rosenweasel runs DOJ?
For a look at what is - or isn’t - contained in an IG report, there are plenty of examples and interesting reading at the DOJ OIG website:

Grow up, will ya?
Let the leaks begin. MSM will be working overtime with FBI leakers to defuse this report and downplay the impact. I can’t wait to see it. I hope Congress releases this to the public.
“...Alfred E. Sessions...”
OUCH!!! That was good.
If you have been wondering why the slow rolling of the Clinton investigation, it comes down to the statue of limitations. For most federal crimes, it is 5 years. Since Clinton left office in 2013, she is running out the clock on her crimes as Secretary of State.
A Probe , is that why Hillary is wearing a back brace ?
I am looking forward to a report on FISA abuse and unmasking and spying on Trump’s campaign. I cant wait to see that report. Hopefully it comes out the week before the election.
Okay, so now it’s put up or shut up time for Sessions. We’ll see. EEE, I’m giving you a courtesy ping as you requested!
It better be good.
Yes, I had wondered. Thanks for explaining Horowitz’ foot dragging so clearly and succinctly.
"Gotta get more popcorn"
The IG FISA abuse investigation only began in late March so it's going to be a long time until we see it. Perhaps, at this time next year.
Rosenstein will redact most of it.
Go lick another booty.
You people are like baby birds with your beaks out for the Momma bird. Sheesh. I told ya’ll Sessions is about to haul @ss! Just crack open one and chillax.
So they complete a “review.”
Which of course nothing will come of it. Just sayin.
How much will be redacted or removed so as not to embarrass the FBI and DOJ. It is worth remembering that the IG is an in-house entity and will always do its best to protect the institution.
