I’m pretty sure behind closed doors (at least these would be the words out of my mouth), he said. “Find us a new city.” I’m sure they’ve alreeady been looking since this all began. If he doesn’t Seattle will just continue with the shake down and he has to know this . Bellevue is a much better option.. They just don’t have as much space. My guess is they will build the buildings. Use them for what they can. Then invest elsewhere, move and rent out the space downtown Seattle..

They’d just need to build a building outside city limits. Also some companies will split their employees and put them under a new named company under the same umbrella of course. I bet not one company pays this tax after all is said and done.
That is my take as well. I think Amazon sees the writing on the wall. The only way I see them staying is if they cut a special deal with the city, like Boeing did with the state a couple of decades ago. And that won’t sit well with everyone else.
The city is becoming an experiment in fascism in a world where everyone is free to move away. This will leave a mark.
