When I was a freshman at the University of Wisconsin in the spring of 1966, I had to receive “career counseling”, as a career development assist for me, while giving students experience in the action.
The student “counseling” me said, “You are in electrical engineering...let’s just go through the motions, as you really don’t need counseling!”
Next to me, another pair were going through the activity. The student was a cute girl. The counselor was heard to say, “You have poor math and science skills. Your English and History grades are substandard. Your only obvious career path is Education.”
I looked at my counselor...he looked at me...and we both rolled our eyes!
This dipshit professor is the result of years of fearless sifting and winnowing, to place the least capable in one of the most societally critical duties...Education!
Events and happenings on the Left tend to run in fads and phases. I am so tired of the white privilege I hope it dies soon. The way to help it along is to get government financing out of colleges. No loans. No grants. The cost of going to college would plummet. Also, the courses like “Underwater Gender Non-specific Transactional Basket Weaving 101” would vanish overnight, along with all the campus unrest as the former students would all have to get jobs at Starbucks.
I guess two young men, Philippino-American brothers, I’ve known since they were born (now in the 20s), are both lovers of “white male privilege”, as they have loved playing those games since they were very young.
Oh wait, as children they are not naturally prejudiced and did not learn that fictional characters had to look like them in order to identify with them nor not looking like them did they have to think they were “other”.
If anything, dungeons and dragons teaches anything BUT “white privilege” as the “winners” are masters of the skills of playing the game, and the game is not about any inherent “privilege”, it’s about your skill.
