Airline seats mount to the floor at four points in "seat tracks" built into the floor. These seats appear to mount at four points, too, but two are in the ceiling in some kind of barber-pole arrangement. A/C Ceilings were not designed for this load.
Sounds like an extensive redesign/rebuild of the A/C interior would be needed, so you'll only see these seats (if at all) in brand-new airliners.
And I didn't even mention crash safety yet...
Too much carrion luggage...................
I could see someone suing on the grounds that these seats violate the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Can you order your places according to sexual orientation section?
(You know what? That might finally wake people up to the magnitudes here. When average people see that the 40 seats saved aboard each flight for the transgenders go empty, they will figure out that there arent as many trans people as we are told.)
I think I read on FR several years ago that China was trying these things out in actual flights.
They look like the seats used on stand-up roller coasters.
They’ll just say TG people don’t fly.............
Next they will demand everyone have a colonic the day before they fly to make more room and lessen the overall weight.
Hey, show ‘em this...They can pack even more on board...Maybe even stack passengers like cord wood?

As if there aren’t already enough reason to avoid flying...
