Oh, yeah:
human resources staff quit processing out the quitters, hanging a sign, we do not accept resignations, an oil worker there told Reuters.
That'd be Point One of Directive 10-289:
Point One: All workers, wage earners, and employees of any kind whatsoever shall henceforth be attached to their jobs and shall not leave nor be dismissed nor change employment, under penalty of a term in jail.
California is covering Point Two:
Point Two: All industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and business establishments of any nature whatsoever shall henceforth remain in operation, and the owners of such establishments shall not quit, nor leave, nor retire, nor close, sell or transfer their business, under penalty of the nationalization of their establishment and of any or all their property.
There are eight points in total, with so much more socialist goodness for all. Before the end of Atlas Shrugged someone on the President's staff called for the death penalty for "traitors" who would dare to quit. Anyone who thinks that outlandish isn't keeping up with current events.
The oil workers are making ten cents a day?
Vote Democrat! Vote socialist!
And starve.
I have no pity on them, they elected that sh-thead Hugo Chavez for 18 years. This is the mess they deserve.
I found a chart showing their GDP compared to their 1950 GDP. In 1978 or so it was 50% higher than 1950 levels and at their peak. Today it is at negative 10% of 1950 GDP.
Heh - in looking at other charts, it shows the GDP way up in recent years (compared to what?? accounting for inflation???).
“Lies, damned lies, and statistics”.
Zactly! During the 80s a huge movement made it’s way thru Venezuela....claiming Americans were stealing their oil. A generation later and now the people are starving.
my opinion is yes it will collapse, but not much bloodshed beyond Madura’s head. The reason is that there is no serious opposition to him in the country.
