This is just one interesting theory of who is the actual power behind the dozens of anti-Ron DeSantis adds running on conservative (!) radio here in Florida daily. He ties it to Adam Putnam and Roger Stone, via cutout Everett Wilkinson.

If anyone can find more sources, let's please do it. DeSantis would be a great governor, and Big Sugar has ruled this state forever. They are not on his side.

The election season is heating up. The contest for Florida's next governor is already in full swing.

Not sure who deserves to replace Rick Scott. I do know that his recent cave to anti-gun interests has dampened my enthusiasm, although there is still no contest between him and Nelson.

Ahhh! This may explain all of the negative DeSantis ads on the local radio lately. If the s is the case (Putnam is in bed with “big sugar”) then it will help DeSantis in the end. Nobody is perfect but DeSantis would be better than anyone else to take over from the weak-knee Gov. Scott of recent gun control infamy. As for voting for Scott for Senator, the campaign for which is already underway, it will be another “vote against” for Scott. Bill Nelson is simply a classic Democrat Senator. In other words, I’d vote for a pineapple before I voted for Nelson.

Thanks for posting that, I’ve been wondering who is behind these ads.

Graham plays middle of the road enough to win. She was my Congresswoman and was able to win in a pretty Conservative district. It’s going to be interesting.

The sugar industry has reason to worry about DeSantis, since the northeast Florida conservative opposes taxpayer subsidies like those the sugar industry depends upon, and he voted against the farm bill.

If true, it sounds like DeSantis is worth supporting (at least regarding that issue). In any event, those who support corporate welfare have a lot of nerve calling themselves The National Liberty Federation.

Roger Stone is still around and is still up to his old tricks?

I thought that because Mueller hasn't indicted him, he must already have left the planet.

(But maybe he's just holed up with Julian Assange at the Ecuadorean Embassy in London?)

Thanks for posting this. This is too bad about Putnam but if true he can no longer be trusted. DeSantis has always struck me as a decent individual and I agree he will make a great Governor.

Also,I suspect Putnam may be soft on illegal immigrants if he's in bed with Big Sugar.

Shame on Stone.

I’ll vote DeSantis, a true and courageous patriot.

Nice behind the scenes view of things. Sugar subsidies make a fortune for “big sugar” but it’s just one of a thousand. Almost all of the subsidies have to go. Not saying De Santis is a saint, neither is Stone or Trump... just gotta have some principles for how government should operate which maybe none of them really have. In the end they are all big government, just not always supporting the same niche sector.

I used to like both of them. But Stone has shown himself to be truly disgusting, and DeSantis has shown himself to be courageous, brave, and working for US...same as Nunes, Jordan, Gaetz, etc.

Adios, Stone. Get lost.
