Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed Donald Trump’s attempts to talk to Russia through a barrage of tweets on Wednesday, and warned that the US president risked worsening “an already fragile situation.”

"We don’t do Twitter diplomacy. We are proponents of a serious approach,” Peskov told the media in Moscow. “We still think it is important to avoid steps that could harm what is already a fragile situation.”

Oh, Puttie,
you’re so vain
you thought that little tweet was about you
you’re so vain
you run your own state media, don’t you don’t you
well you walked into Damascus
like you owned everything you touched
your troops strategically placed around Assad
told him not to make much of the fuss
Well you promised him gold and riches, yeah
if he would only give up his ports
and he could kill all his people, kill all his people
you’re so vain

Too bad they don't have any diplomats in the US. Do they do cell phone diplomacy?

Hope they get together and hash this out, there is no need for Russia and the U.S. to be on different sides in Syria, Trump inherited bad policy from Obama and has every opportunity to fix it. Assad seems to be the only sane choice and Russia, to their credit, took that approach from the start. I don’t see why there needs to be any problems between the U.S. and Russia on this issue. There are enough problems that need fixing within the boundaries of the United States, and there’s the North Korean situation where Russia is not taking the right stand, so that could be discussed as well. But if we want to end the chaos in Syria it would be better to take a co-ordinated approach and back a sensible policy.
