Yes, that would work, and be a logical follow on to the series, allowing the writers to bring the stories up-to-date. Moreover, Harrison Ford could do a cameo as her aging uncle/grandfather (he really is getting too old to be running around in field work), perhaps as a deus-ex-machine pulling her out of a tight spot. Even better, SHE could pull him out of a dangerous situation which he has grown too old to handle.
