Houston Texans owner Bob McNair walked back his apology for his comment last year comparing NFL players to inmates running the prison," a statement he made regarding players protesting by refusing to stand for the national anthem.
McNair immediately apologized for that comment after severe backlash, but has changed his tune since then.
The main thing I regret is apologizing, McNair said to the Wall Street Journal.
McNair claims the comments were directed towards NFL executives who felt he was exerting more power than the other owners.

Oh no he di’nt! Now he dun it!
I get your intention, Bob, but at this point, it’s not productive to revisit that well. There are certain moments that can never be recaptured. The kneelers could have learned a lesson about personal responsibility had you stuck by your statement. And yes, you may have lost your job or been put on suspension for daring to be so honest.
If they think attendance at NFL was bad last year? Just wait until this year....
But McNair and others that “apologize” for their freedom of speech, they get what they deserve.
Say what you mean, mean what you say....and don’t apologize.
If he would have used the word asylum rather than the word prison.
What a weasel. He did not take back his apology. He said he meant executives instead of players.
I give him 5 weasels.
Why do these people apologize? Why don’t they just tell them to pound sand?
Who cares... I quit watching the NFL
It must be seasons ticket time again!
