Facebook COBB COUNTY, Ga. - The frights are supposed to end at Six Flags Over Georgia once you get off the rides.

That wasn’t the case for Joshua Martin on July 3, 2007.

The 19-year-old Marietta kid was with his brother and their friend just outside the park when several gang members descended upon them at a bus station 200 feet from the amusement park’s property line.

It was a flurry of brass-knuckled punches and kicks.

Martin had a shoe print embossed on his forehead when he was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital from Austell.

He was in a coma seven days and suffered severe brain injuries.

If it was not on Six Flags’ property, why are they liable?

*************

Good question and is explained in the case details. Take a few
minutes and scan thru it. The bottom line is the harassment began
on Six Flag property and continued outside it.

Situational awareness. Then fight with your back to the wall. I might have a foot print on my forehead and be comatose for 7 days after the fight but them MFers gonna know they was in a fight too.

Sounds like it’s going down the Astroworld path.

Nicest amusement park I’ve ever been in was Busch Gardens Williamsburg.

” Parks should be safe; the animals should be put down.”

Police officer testified that many of the park workers were gang members.

There was a time when Cobb County did not put up with criminal behavior.

There was a time when Marietta High School was all white. Now it is 18% white.

I grew up 15 miles west of the Six Flags Over GA park. When it first opened back in the mid/late sixties, it was $3.95 admission for the day if I recall. It was a fun place to go throughout middle school and high school with friends. The Scream Machine...one of the early big roller coasters. And I think Jim Henson got his Muppet show started there before he became famous with Sesame street and the movies.

Atlanta has become a $hit-h0le country since that time.

So how much brain damage are you willing to suffer for that $35 million? Just enough to vote for Jeb Bush? Hillary? Or are you willing to go all the way to a brain dead Bernie supporter?

Six Flags Over GA is a dump in a dumpy area now. When I visited relatives in Georgia in the 1960s/70s we would visit the park, and it was very nice back then.

“Security” dude must’ve had his training in Broward County, FLA.

Security dude probably decided handling a gang by himself was above his pay grade. Not sure I blame him. Park should have called in reinforcements.

You realize that the 35 million is for his life time care. He had to learn to walk and talk again. Short term memory is shot. He will probably never hold a job, marry, have kids or be able to go out without a minder.

Still want that 35 million?

I fail to see why the park was at fault.

With severe brain injury it might be kind of hard to spend the money — or get much enjoyment from it. But hey, whatever trips your trigger.
