The death penalty should be considered and implemented for a multitude of other crimes.
There’s graffiti popping-up on mailboxes around here which says “Kill Your Local Heroin Dealer”.

You sell poison to young people and adults....You die. After a fair trial of course. Small sellers get 10 years exile. Large sellers get the death penalty, hanging preferably. Hang ‘em high!
The death penalty is not a deterrent in America due to 25 year reviews and stays. I am against the death penalty, but even I know that executions must be swift to be a deterrent, 3 years max. Convicted perps must know thay have only 2 years left to live. The current death penalty is a 25 year sentence and then execution at 50 years old. A 25 year old punk cant even imagine being 25 years old, especially when his fellow gangbangers get whacked before they turn 30. Getting a “death sentence” means guaranteeing you live until 50. That is an improvement for lots of punks who expect to live fast and die at 25.
No deterrent there. Trump can impose a death penalty, but it wont stop drug traffickers loke in China where you are summarily executed shortly after trial. It is a good idea but it wont work in America with 30 years of appeals.

Will that include CEO’s of multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies who look the other way at for instance, sending millions of pills to small pharmacies in small rural areas??
The ONLY way to stop bad behavior of any kind, in any situation.. is to make the consequences harsh enough that people think twice before doing bad behavior.
Some will still do it, but the death penalty will stop some of them. The past government has been way too easy on a lot of things.. and it gets out of hand real fast.

Far more people are dying on Rx drugs than all illegal drugs combined. Big pharma seems invisible to lawmakers as 18-wheelers full of addictive narcotics are sold in poor neighborhoods and paid for with our tax dollars.

This will be misused just like Civil Asset Forfeiture has been misued. C.A.F. Was orginally invented to help stop piracy on the high seas by taking away the stolen goods from pirates. Now it is being abused by government to take money from people on questionable charges. If we introduce capital punishment for “drug dealers” how many physicians and pharmacists will be targeted. What about a neighbor who gives some extra painkillers the hospital prescribed to him to a friend? Who, exactly, gets defined as a “drug dealer”. Will this become another slippery slope towards tyranny?
Perhaps a better solution is that drug dealers have to consume all the drugs they’re caught with, excluding prescription medications. If a drug is not dangerous, the person will live. If the drug is dangerous, like meth or crack, chances are the person will overdose.
Are the Pharma Companies and their pushers the doctors eligible for this too?
