For bagster, who was reminding me of Get Smart this morning.
I love Fogelberg. We grew up in the same city. A high school friend of my family runs the Fogelberg Foundation of Peoria.
He was an amazing artist. I can listen to his music all day (and never hear the same song twice). Thanks for sharing.
A lot of pretty women on that show over the years.

Absolutely! And Barbara Feldon one of the best.
I taught the director’s secretary to make music videos on the 1” broadcast equipment at work. She did Run for the Roses by Fogelberg to video she shot at a friend’s horse farm in the spring with foals running through the paddocks. It was magic. Not sure if my copy is on a format I can still access, or Betacam.
ok, that was cute.
Maxwell Smart was a very cool dude!
Thanks, Shark. It’s almost impossible to miss with Get Smart. Every time I watch one of the music videos, I promise myself to binge watch the whole show yet again.
I don’t know if he really understood what he brought to the show when it was on the air. When you watch the follow-on movies, he’s overacting the part, and it was his sincerity that worked so well. He was the best of spies AND the worst of spies.
I have a Beta SP vtr in the garage .
It powered on ok last time I tried a couple of years ago.
Oh, you are a dream, wally. I will definitely remember that when I’m looking.
Dan Fogelberg was a GREAT gifted artist. Singer, songwriter, musician (on some recordings he played EVERY instrument himself), performer.
Gone too soon, (cancer).
There is more than 1! Lots of them. Thanks, they are fun to watch.
Glad you like them! Only one of mine is blocked from loading on YouTube - If Not for You by Bob Dylan. All of Bob Dylan is blocked. Sigh. I made the Get Smarts around 2007, when I first switched to non-linear editing. Husband wanted to travel, so we got an RV and he set up an editing suite for me in the bedroom. When it turned out he couldn’t cross the Mississippi River (the guard rails looked like curbs), we spent a month watching soybeans grow while I made videos. I still love them.

I knew (and liked) Fogelbergs songs when I was growing up, but I only knew the radio singles.
Recently I rediscovered him through Spotify and became more familiar with his body of work. I am currently obsessed with his music. Nether Lands, Tucson Arizona , Seeing You Again and Ghosts are just some of his lesser known standouts. There are too many great songs to list.
Ive also heard that he was an humble, down to earth guy. Its so sad that he was taken so young.
Yes, you are right about those great works. When I was in my 20s, also was quite familiar with Twin Sons (with Tim Weisburg). I love Sutter’s Mill. I can put on youtube of him, and it will go all day long with very few duplicates.
So mellow.
I agree, Sutters Mill is another great tune.
Mr. Fogelberg was a master storyteller. He was brutally honest in his lyrics as proven by Believe in Me and Seeing you Again which, as you probably know, were written about his failing marriage.
He definitely had a way with words. I was only nine years old when Heart Hotels was released but, even at that age, the lyrics And the voices you hear at the top of the stairs are only echoes of unanswered prayers touched me.
I am also impressed by his live performances on YouTube and the instruments he could play. Its very hard to find such genuine talent today.
Sorry for my rambling post but I get very excited when discussing such superb music.
Another thing: IMO, the Innocent Age wasnt just an outstanding LP, the album cover was epic. Creepy but epic.
