As consideration for my employment, or my continued employment, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), United States Department of Justice, I hereby agree to be governed by and to comply with the following provisions:
--SNIP-- 3. I will not reveal, by any means, any information or material from or related to FBI files or any other information acquired by virtue of my official employment to any unauthorized recipient
---SNIP--- 7. Violations of this employment agreement may constitute cause for revocation of my security clearance, subject me to criminal sanction, disciplinary action by the FBI, including dismissal, and subject me to personal liability in a civil action at law, including but not limited to injunctive relief, the imposition of a constructive trust, and the disgorging of any profits arising from any unauthorized publication or disclosure.

A young neighbor was interested in a career in law enforcement. When researching requirements we found what looks to be the FBI Employment Agreement (FD-291 (Rev. 9-15-2015)). I can not confirm 100% but it is similar to many corporate and government employment agreements.
You can download the pdf file at:

The bottom line (in my opinion, as an undocumented lawyer) is that Comey and his criminal clown posse clearly violated their employment agreements and should not be profiting from their misdeeds and should be prosecuted.

So, if Comey goes out and sales of his book start soaring, it sounds like the profits might also be subject to taken away from him, when his criminal misconduct is “proven”?

(Not that I am putting any plans on hold, while we wait for that to happen.)

This firing is the end result of a long and thorough search of his behavior. To fire a federal employee is virtually unheard of so his actions must be very egregious indeed. Bon Voyage

I [name] do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

If just one word of any "leak" is in the book, I think he can be prosecuted and lose all the profits.

It might even be that he stops publication to avoid a civil suit.

Don't these books have to be submitted to the government for scrutiny?

It is a matter of public record that Comey gave his memos to Columbia Law Professor Daniel Richman.
According to item #2:
2. All information acquired by me in connection with my official duties with the FBI and all official material to which I have access remain the property of the United States of America.

(I agree with you that the spineless GOPe wimps will not do anything.)

The upcoming IG report must be very damaging re McCabe to get him fired as you posted.

My dad was in the FBI for 10 years, during the J Edgar era. But he lived those rules for the rest of his days. Today’s agents, particularly those with Leftist stripes, have their own rules. They are governed by the Democrat Party, not the Constitution or any other ‘stinking rules’, like those of an FBI agent, required to have a conscience.

They are all upset over the fact ‘one of them’ got caught and sentenced... for once one of them has been held accountable. They thought they were untouchable! They can lie under oath, but others can’t. They can do whatever they please, but others can’t. It’s the deep state being held accountable.. just one, but more to come! and it’s about time!!!
