Looking for recommendations for best Apple/Mac Ad Block Application
Posted on 03/15/2018 4:02:45 PM PDT by Be Careful
I installed AdBlock Plus a year or more ago and have had no problem with pop ups on my iPad. All of a sudden I am getting a ton of pop ups that take over the page that I am working on, despite having updated the blocking software.......Any suggestions for the latest and greatest ad block programs? ...Thanks in advance.

Ad blocker on your router is the best way. Pi-hole installed on a raspberry pi is the best way and very cheap.

Remove the battery, unplug it, and get a Windows based machine.

uBlock. Stopped approx. 90% of the crap. But ads morph.

Router blocker is a good idea.
Or go a bit beyond ad blocking and go to Safari ‘JS Blocker’ that blocks all scripts. Requires a little more learning.

Ad Block Plus works great here.
just click on the (somewhat disguised) link once its installed to TURN OFF its “acceptable ads” ...so it blocks ALL ads)
you may OCCASIONALLY find a website that objects to your uwing an adblocker. i just click to an alternate website when that happens
