That means the 33-year law enforcement veteran will keep his $60,000 pension unless he's hit with a federal charge of failing to act...how about lying to the public, saying he thought the shots were coming from outside the building and later heard on tape saying they were coming from inside - could we at least knock $5000 off for that?......

It’s like pulling teeth trying to get the talkshow circuit bring up the mess Parkland is and was that allowed these killings to occur.

The inability to counter this perverted (they call progressive) agenda created by the democratic party ( in name only) has its goose stepping adherents in the media left make it up as guns and the NRA garbage through their swill mills. When it should be contested by GOP state and federal legislators who should be demanding investigative hearings exposing policy failures

DON’T MENTION THIS
Besides examining the conduct ( cops told not to enter other dept called and does those cops disciplined because they did) and arrangements of the Broward County Sheriff’s Dept made with this school district performance failures due to policy. A dramatic reduction in disciplinary incidents at Parkland were reported after the selection of Obama’s Chicago friend as school superintendent occurred which was publicly acclaimed.

Because that school district was receiving large grant money from Obama’s Attorney General because of those results. That many critics claimed encouraged criminal activity. Which should require Trump Administration US Attorney General beside finding out why when the FBI knew that Cruz who should not been able to purchase weapons did. Also review these grant programs instituted by the previous Obama administration.

A "fanny" in Australia is slang for vagina.

No joke.

It would be offensive to say "fanny pack" there.

Aussies call them "bum bags".

Bum= butt.

The rub here is the role of a law enforcement officer in the school. I maintain that his role is to augment the school's security, not supplant it. Therefore, law enforcement officers are a side issue.

My belief is that the main issue comes down to who is “in loco parentis”. Laws of the “several states” require attendance at public schools. That makes those schools and their teachers agents of the government. They are not elected officials or sworn officers. So sovereign immunity does not attach to them. But in loco parentis does.

Pursuing that line of reasoning, when under a teacher's direct supervision, such as in the classroom, that teacher is in loco parentis. He has the absolute responsibility to protect and defend the students under his supervision.

Further, when students are in general motion or assembling not under direct supervision, the school is in loco parentis. Once again it is the absolute responsibility of the school to protect and defend those students.

Schools and teachers should not be permitted to evade this responsibility. The sooner We The People understand this responsibility, the sooner we can truly address the issue.

One possible way to address it is to require firearms and protection training qualification to attain teacher certification. Then, further require that all public school faculty be armed while “on duty”. That would address responsibility, capability, and requirement of action embodied in loco parentis.

In that scenario, schools would not longer be happy hunting grounds for child murdering scum. Schools would become a death trap for wanna be child murders.

Would the education establishment scream about any of this? Certainly. But the first thing to do is to confront them with their legal responsibility to act embodied in loco parentis. Then solutions can be developed.

The fanny pack is for the gun he carries.

If he wore it correctly, in the back, it would no longer be considered “under his direct control”, so he must legally wear it that way.

Happens often around here.
