Excellent! It can probably advise the local equivalent of the cowards of Broward when it’s safe to enter...

At the same time, it calls police, providing them with specific information about where in the building the shots were fired,Maybe different alarm sounds for different buildings/floors etc.

Wasn’t there some kind of alarm or drill the day of the Florida shooting?
I’ve alternately heard reports that they were undergoing a gun shooter drill or that the shooter had pulled the fire alarm.

I believe the shooter had pulled the fire alarm to crowd the hallways.

Thing is I don’t recall hearing the alarm in the one taped video I heard on the news the day of the shooting.

Also if he’d pulled the fire alarm, a firetruck should have been en route and on the scene (to investigate, give all clear signal, etc.).

He hasn't heard of Shot Spotter? Don't know if that could be adapted - maybe.
The sensors and code that recognizes a gunshot could be tweaked, but rather than GPS coordinates (which would be useless inside a school building, marginally useful on a large campus) the system could perhaps identify the closest room or corridor where the shot was loudest (the Shot Spotter works on DB of the signal to range it).
Definitely doable - but definitely make it a different sound than the fire alarm so they know to secure their rooms rather than congregate in the hallways.

There was a drill earlier in the day. When it happened the second time in a day, many people were incredulous. I don’t recall hearing it was Cruz who pulled the alarm, just that it was pulled at some point during the commission of the act.

True. AND the firemen would likely have run into the building and managed to save some of the victims....

Sensors are placed throughout the building that constantly scan for the sound of gunfire, Jax explained. Once a sensor detects a gunshot, the systems computer can differentiate and confirm that the sound is gunfire and not a different loud noise that is common in a school, like a locker slamming. Because a .22LR fired from a rifle sounds just like a 9mm fired from a pistol.

Similar product already developed called Shot Spotter. Detection devices pick up the sound and are linked to Dispatch center for priority police response.

Make different sounds for different locations so that the armed teachers know where to go to kill the intruder. Hard enough to convince most teachers to gather their students, draw their weapon and hunker down until the police arrive, never mind gather your students and then leave them alone to go hunt the hunter - and risk getting shot by the police when they do arrive.
If every teacher were to assume the armed defensive role the shooter will run into someone shooting back in short order.

OK, you hear the sound after the bullet has impacted a student. How does this help?
