All music to my ears! You’re exactly the kind of person I’m looking for.
I’ve been teaching at my church for about 7 years now. I don’t have a theology or history degree or anything; just a history buff/bibliophile obsessed with learning and educating people. I also have a weekly blog (link in the tag line) that I’ve been writing for three years. I’ve recently finished the manuscript for my first book but still looking for a publisher (it’s tough to get a yes!).
Since the response here was enthusiastic, I’ll try to find links to some of the past classes for everyone to see if they’re interested (not all of them got recorded).
I agree with your assessment of FR. I haven’t been real active here for a long time but never stopped lurking since I joined about 13 years ago. Sometimes it’s the only place where the world makes any sense lol.
The Birth of a Kingdom (Focuses on Archaeological Evidence for Saul, David, and Solomon)
These are all that's on YouTube: the rest were Facebook livestreamed by church members (you don't have to have a Facebook page to view them):
Thank you for the links...I am going to watch them as time permits.
You don’t come across as an amateur at all-which for all of us history buffs with no degree and a love of the subject, I suspect many of us would aspire to that level of skill.
I found your lecture extremely engaging. I was explaining the Dead Sea scrolls to my wife last night as you explained them, and I think she sometimes thinks I am as flighty as a bird...she seemed to think as she looked at me “What on earth got you interested in The Dead Sea scrolls???”
But anyway, thanks!
Thanks, will watch over the next week. I have one for you, here is one of our young Catechists doing a 5 minute talk on the parable of of the lamb. Thought you might enjoy seeing an evangelist in training. :) God bless.

Thank you, I’ll check it out! Five minutes...obviously a lot less long-winded than I am. Lol
