I’m not expert there... but I would guess no?
Agree. I put 100 through it yesterday at the ranch. Not a hitch. Need to do that again.
More good info to consider:
First two in my magazine are safeties- for obvious reasons. The next are un-safeeties....
Not sure I had heard of those. Interesting......
One of my carry guns is a Walther PPK/S, my defense load for that is Hornady 90 gr. Critical Defense, and I carry in a bug bite ankle holster wien in slacks/dress pants. stays in place well, and has a seperate pocket for an additional mag
Old school, don’t believe they’ve been surpassed. I carry the blue in the .380 and the silver in the 9mm and the 357 mag. Usually have all 3 handy every day.
SERIOUS rounds follow the first two in any case.
Make a Really Big MESS in the target w/100% energy dump.
“... The PPK was worthless. ...Took it to several gunsmiths and they couldnt correct the problem. ...”
Common for PPK and PPK/S.
The initial model (PP) was designed around the 32 ACP cartridge. The 380 ACP is too large in diameter, and has the wrong taper, curvature, and surface intersection angles. No one can make them feed every time.
In my experience, the Federals feed more reliably.
Get a 9mm. Less recoil.
James Bond never had any problems...
Technically... hes right.
Cant go wrong with Hornady critical defense. Has been 100% reliable in by s&w bodyguard.
If it is chambered in .380 it will handle anything as far as I know.
I had one made in Russia in 9mm Mak. It was an excellent pistol. Unusually accurate.
“Can either of these two .380 be fried thru a Markov 9MM?”
If you mean the Soviet Makarov PM-50, not safely.
Commonly called “9x18 Makarov”, the Soviet round is actually a 9.2mm. The head is larger in diameter and the case is longer. Euro designation for 380 ACP is 9mm Kurz or 9x17mm.
Quit trying to cut corners. There is an increasing selection of 9x18 defense rounds out there. Makarov pistols can still be found at lower prices than PPKs.
The Federal is FAR superior. Nearly 200fps faster out of a 3.5in barrel.
I had the Model 85 with the flip up barrel and fin wooden grips. It was one of my favorite pistols.
About 20yrs ago when an ex GF moved out, I couldn’t find it anywhere and was broken hearted.
Correction: It was a Model 86.
** Hornady 90 gr. Critical Defense is what you want. **

Oh no. I see why she was your ex.
Great piece, I love mine...
