Thanks for posting this. Yes, I knew this, monkeys offer a barrier against the diseases mosquitos carry. There was the hideous story of the inhabitants there, killing monkeys over yellow fever and that was a stupid thing to do, they thought the monkeys were carrying and spreading it.
Yet many of the monkeys are invasive, stripping people’s fields, bue because of the attachment to Lord Hanuman, people can’t or have a hard time bringing themselves to exterminate them. Plus, it’s against Federal Law.
