Feb. 7 (UPI) -- A shocked Missouri woman captured video when she arrived home to a bizarre scene -- her neighbor's mischievous dog riding on the back of her pony.
Callie Schenker, 22, said she pulled into her driveway Thursday night in Bolivar and noticed her one-eyed pony, Cricket, was trotting around with a corgi perched on his back.
"I can't make this stuff up!!!" Schenker wrote in posting video of the unusual scene to Facebook. "So we pull back in our driveway tonight and this is what we see. This is not our dog! But apparently him and Cricket the one eyed wonder pony are best friends. I'm stealing the dog, new circus act!"
Schenker said the canine showed some real skill in balancing on the pony's back.
"He rode it like people," Schenker told the Springfield News-Leader. "That, to us, is the killer of the video -- that he actually stayed on."
She said the corgi belongs to her neighbors, a Mennonite family that mostly keeps to themselves. Schenker said they do not use the Internet, so they have no idea that the dog, which she believes is named Roper, is now an online star.
Here’s a mingling of species.
If you have ever had a Corgi, this will not be all that surprising.
They are truly a breed apart.
I wonder if the Corgi got on it while it was laying down? Can a Corgi jump that far? That’s amazing.
A Yankee Doodle dog!
A friend of mine had a corgi and a German Shepherd.
They never had to pick up any of the Shepherds poop out of the yard
Corgi took care of it.
And she called it macaroni
Afraid of the coyotes?
Oh! Literally riding the pony.
I’m terrible. My mind quickly jumped to the completely wrong conclusion.
“Jeepers, it’s the heat!”
Cue cop movie chase music?
My boss had a couple of shepherds. Every morning they’d wait by the company cat, Cat’s, litter box for breakfast. Cat was a big eater and quite the baker, always serving up doonuts, especially first thing in the morning.
Cat had amazing composure, bravely doing his business with two shepherds looking at his bottom waiting to compete for the treat while it was hot. Cat would strut past them as if he was knew his crap was made of solid gold and he was a Liberal philanthropist saving third world canines from starvation.
Keeping each other warm.
What really makes this so cute is the pony runs away and the Corgi looks back like they were caught doing something wrong but the Corgi makes no effort to get off the pony even if they were caught.
The Corgi really is a good rider too! They’ve been practicing. :)
“Secret life of farm animals.”
With all the weird mixes of dogs that involve Corgis, one can imagine why you might reach that conclusion about that randy breed.
I still shake my head over a Great Dane/Corgi mix...
I had a Golden whose nose became permanently discolored due to years of nosing around in cat litter.
I love dogs, but boy, they sure do have a disgusting side to them!
I was not particularly impressed with this story until I read the dog was a Corgi.
LOL me too!
Who expects an immigrant to have a pony.
lol
