This makes no sense to me, I’ve read the bible and there isn’t a sequel.

After the gospels come the acts of the apostles and letters. That’s the subject of the sequel.

A sequel?

This story could get problematic. Is it set in the future?

Unknown.

But I’m guessing here, that the new version will deal with the Pentecost and the Ascension.................

Wow! I didn’t know the movie grossed THAT much! Awesome. Hoping Mel can keep his demons at bay while he works on this next film.

Sequel makes perfect sense as the last clip has Christ rising from the dead and walking out of his tomb.

This makes no sense to me, I’ve read the bible and there isn’t a sequel.

There is that small matter of the time between the Resurrection and the Ascension. Not to mention Acts. If they just covered that and the period between Pentecost and Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus that could be a great movie.

There’s a lot of fire and speaking in tongues at Pentecost.

2 options:

1) after the crucifixion, when they discover on Sunday morning that HE HAS RISEN and then his many appearances to his ascension.

2) Christ’s return from the Book of Revelation.

That would be my guess.

I wonder if they plan on using the same language choices they used in Passion of the Christ? As I recall, Gibson wanted to release Passion with no subtitles. That would have been a disaster, IMO as not many viewers are fluent in Latin, Greek or Aramaic.

Resurrection then the visitation to the deciples, both Mary’s and doubting Thomas. I guess?

Yeah.

Never saw the ‘Passion ‘. 10 years of Catholic parochial school gave me pretty much all the data.

Mel is brilliant. Too bad Hollywood blackballed him.

He can do just fine without them.
