Pizza is a healthier breakfast than most cereals
chicagotribune ^ | JAN 31 2018 | Holly Van Hare

"Cold pizza, microwaved pizza, store-bought frozen pizza... It doesn't matter what kind of pie is on your plate this morning - it's probably a healthier breakfast than a bowl of cereal.

If you're considering eating pizza for breakfast, there's a good chance you're wildly hungover. Or maybe you're just feeling plain old lazy. You might feel like a piece of trash for eating America's favorite greasy food before 10 a.m., but you really shouldn't.

It's got protein. It's got carbs. It might even have vegetables. That hot slice of cheesy goodness is a balanced breakfast if we've ever seen one.........."

Eating a bowl of commercial cereal is about as nutritious as consuming a bowl of sugar...which is just about what it constists of.

Nonsense. Depends on how much pizza and what kind, and how much cereal and what kind.

The college breakfast of champions...cold pizza and warm beer. No college experience is complete without it.

Compared to Fruit Loops and milk? Pizza is much better.

In some cases, the cereal box is healthier than its contents. Include the inside bag for extra nutrients.

Yeah, good source of vitamin D, presuming you add milk.

Exactly. One packet of unsweetened instant oatmeal with a drizzle of honey and a few raisins is far healthier than pizza...and with a cup of coffee or 8oz. of milk...should be enough breakfast for anyone.

The whole thing is a false choice.

If you want to improve your health should you take:
1) Prussic Acid?
2) Cyanide?

If you want to eat a healthy breakfast, should you eat:
1) Fruit Loops?
2) Pizza?

The choices are not good choices.
Good choices exist, but are not on offer in this silly article.

Not debating that. I think its more a statement of how dreadful ‘breakfast food’ actually is.

It’s a carbohydrate nightmare. I fed my middle kid steak for breakfast this AM. He’s not hungry until lunch. Who knew protein works like that.

He eats a bowl of sugar, and lo and behold, he’s hungry by 9:30AM.

Man was the Gen X crowd one of the most lied-to generations ever.

Hi.

Everyone I know has had pizza for breakfast. Some with coffee, some with beer.

Don’t try it with a Rusty Nail or Bloody Mary though...
