I love the smell of burning rubbish in the morning. Smells like -- victory! The Globe has taken to leaving issues in non-subscribers' driveways. I use it to start fires in my fireplace.

Hold on here!
They were willing to pay me $6.93 for 12 weeks of digital access and now they’re only willing to pay me $5.00?
What’s up with that? How does that benefit me?
;)

And how much after the 12 weeks?
To: DoodleDawg
Before we cancelled them they were $85 a month. They suck anyway, save your money!

Boston Globe online access 100% off! (Just clear their cookies.)
To: pabianice
$5 for ...was $6.93... This is a reasonable price IMHO for the print version.
The Glob (sicK) is free to pay me that to which I'll agree to receive their hard copy fish wrap and pet cage liner.

Before we cancelled them they were $85 a month. They suck anyway, save your money! So it's an introductory rate to lure you in, and once they have you they assume you'll pay the normal price? Where is that surprising? Companies do it all the time.

I gave up my Globe about 6 years ago.
Since that time I get weekly mail offers from the Globe———that’s a lot of offers.
They are desperate.

That's actually a criminal scam. They are counting you as a subscriber and charging their advertisers accordingly.

I cancelled my local liberal rag when they: shrunk the size; published more ads than news; supported all libs, all the time; and last but not least — raised the price $100.00 a year! All the news I need, I get at FR!

Until the customer looks at the product over a period of weeks and says, "OMG this is crap!"

Until the customer looks at the product over a period of weeks and says, "OMG this is crap!" The number of companies out there hoping that the customer doesn't realize that is infinite.

I will not even give them a click let alone money.

Dead wrong.
Their print version isn’t news either. Its still propaganda. If they are not the ones paying you then It is vastly overpriced.

I would take a leftist rag if it were free. Can always use the paper for packing boxes.

This started over a decade ago for me. I used to subscribe to
Indianapolis Star Sunday Edition. When renewal came up, I just threw it away as I wasn't reading it anymore. They reduced the price and I still wasn't buying. Finally, they said that, if I renewed at the reduced Sunday-only price, they would give me M-Sa free. Since I knew I wouldn't read those, I still said no.
They do this so they can tell advertisers that they have XXX paid daily subscribers, which holds up their ad rates. Since I'm pretty PO'ed at the MSM now, I would not subscribe to the Globe at any rate.

That’s the one that’s the New York Times reprint with the word Boston written at the top, right?
