Indonesia's special forces showed off their skills -- including drinking blood from decapitated snakes and breaking flaming bricks -- for U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis during his visit to Jakarta on Wednesday.
The demonstration came as Mattis seeks to expand military and counterterrorism cooperation with Indonesia.

That was an impressive display.
In the meantime, we are getting stuck with crap like Bradley Manning and Bowe Bergdahl in our military. What complete and utter nonsense!

Indeed he does! We are always wondering which standard will he lower next. The most pressing problem seems to be that since 34 year old moms can become Rangers, will 40 year old grandmothers make SEALS?
Or will he use the tax payer funded mil budget to pay for reverse transgender operations - as well as the other possible sex change operations made so popular recently in the Mil. We do know that he will support same sex marriages at the formerly great US mil academies, and looks like he will be ordering pink high heel combat shoes for all.

Getting through Ranger Training (even if not under highly questionable circumstances) does NOT make someone a Ranger. I know that confuses people, but it is true.
Mattis should have supplied some BBQ Pork for the Indonesia’s special forces to try ,but are they Brave enough ,LOL
And we have two fudge-packers getting “married” at one of the nation’s elite military academies and worse, these two officers are helicopter pilots. Does our military preparedness depend on our its leaders ensuing an adequate supply of body lotions and depilatories for its men?
My son worked with these guys on a MEU, and they do more than eat snakes.

I was so hopeful that between President Trump and SecDef (General) Mattis, that a bunch of the bullshit infecting our military would be erased by now.
Once again, not how it works. Educate yourself. Wearing a Ranger tab does not make you a Ranger. People from other branches (or even other nations militaries) that go through Ranger training are not “assigned” to a Ranger Battalion. If you have some proof that the system had been corrupted in that manner in the real world please submit proof. The ladies that got physically pushed through by a two star may have received a tab but they most assuredly are not Rangers.
I bet that was Mattis’ first thought. I would bet my bottom dollar if he had a choice of who would have his back it would be a Marine infantryman.
Story yesterday of dogs being butchered in Indonesia. Very upsetting.
