The Weather Channel co-founder and original “Good Morning America” meteorologist John Coleman passed away Saturday.
His wife, Linda, said he passed away at their home in Las Vegas, the Associated Press reports. He was 83 years old.
A Texas native, Coleman had controversial views on climate change and insisted global warming is a hoax.
He got his first TV job while studying at the University of Illinois and went on to work at several local stations in the Midwest before joining GMA when it launched in 1975, according to AP.
After helping launch The Weather Channel in 1981, he served as CEO for roughly a year.
He went on to have a 20-year career as a meteorologist for KUSI-TV in San Diego before retiring in 2014.
Bummer, but RIP.
Definitely a Force.
I remember him from WLS in Chicago.
RIP. I like to click on this channel when the weather is nasty where I live because they always have reporters on scene in different parts of the country where the weather really sucks.
RIP. He had an idea that made money.
He was one of the few that wouldn’t lie to us about “global warming” and tell it as it is. Good man.
He worked at an Omaha station in the 60s and loved to see him do crazy stunts while giving the weather forecast. RIP, a really good guy and one of the first and most outspoken critics of Algore’s climate nonsense.
So what were the controversial views that he had?

A great advocate of the ‘weather is the weather, because the weather has been the weather since forever, and global warming is complete BS’ has passed.
Thankfully, Trump is in command and he will carry on your cause and expose global warming for the hoax it is, and it’s soothsayers as the frauds that they are.
