Another Indiana Jones (because the last one was so well received) and another remake!

How sad. Is there nothing original in Hollywood anymore?
Remakes on top of remakes.

My Son got this from the Rifftrax version of Crystal Skull:

George Lucas was the one who damaged the last Indiana Jones movie with the mumbo jumbo alien angle he insisted on.

A remake of West Side Story.
Wow.
Guys snapping their fingers and jumping around.
I think he should make Mary Poppins Visits Jurassic Park.
Just a spoon full of sugar makes the Park Attendant go down, the Park Attendant go down, the Park Attendant go down.

Some movies should never be remade. West Side Story is one of them. It was a different time when such a story was relevant, and the audience could still appreciate such music. Now there are no more street gangs like that. Today they are all drug gangs. And a great number of the potential audience can only relate to cheesy pop, hip hop and rap. Plus the original portrayed real men and women. Today the characters would be gay, tranny, overly aggressive females and wimpy males. Oh, and the cast would have to be “diverse” with the whites completely portrayed as the bad guys.

I was on the set of AI back in Aug thru Nov of 2000. On election night I was a few feet behind him while he was waving a cigar in the air saying how Gore was going to wipe Bush up in Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisc, Mich and all the Midwest. Finally had to go outside and walk around studio 16. I think it was 16. Still a very interesting 4 months.

Robert A Heinlein's
By His Bootstraps would be an interesting movie with some musical numbers thrown in. It's from the '50s.
Bob Wilson is a Physics grad student but musically knowledgeable. The movie could take that a step further and have him be a super-cool beatnik type who sings a number at a cool jazz joint in the beginning.
That scene could also be used for conversation to inform what the book just tells you about Wilson as various people talk to him.
Later when he freaks out the simple future natives by playing a phonograph the movie could have him sing it as well, cementing his leadership. That would be a cool movie; in the groove, Baby.
