Students send vulgar letters disputing Post story about ‘hellhole’ school

With a teacher’s encouragement, seventh-graders in a social-studies class at JHS 80 used their city-issued laptops last week to e-mail letters to The Post to protest a report about their school that cited discipline problems, hazardous conditions, and administrators who try to cover up violent incidents.

Sadly, the students did not display the writing skills they should be learning. The missives were rife with grammar, spelling and punctuation errors — and some curse words.

Here is another gem from the link: U have no evidence to say that JHS 80 is hellhole. It’s how u think it is. This will effect a lot of students in a bad way. It offended me as well. I am not saying our school is perfect. But I am saying that there is some bad kids with certain behavior and their is some good kids with certain behavior in every school you could propply name. My point is, this article only states the negative side of this school but in reality, our school is such a strong growing school

If someone opened up a chain of private adult remedial schools to teach basic K12 skills, ethics, speech and manners I imagine it would be quite successful. I think a lot of people don’t want to be so ignorant.

Just imagine if all the money wasted (yes, it is) on government education was redirected towards infrastructure.

• Schools could be sold to be utilized in other ways, even education and sports
• Small business creation to properly educate children
• Hordes of semi-literate educators available for retail shift-work
• Enormous drop in DemonRat political funding
• No Union blessing requirement for political office
