What a nice old couple. Just like your dear sweet grandparents, right?
From last month...
Elderly couple found with 60 pounds of pot tell deputies it's for Christmas gifts
The marijuana, discovered during a traffic stop on Tuesday, had an estimated street value of $336,000.

lol. This story has everything. Even something to agitate the Asset Forfeiture crowd here at FR...
A search of the couples 2016 Toyota Tacoma turned up a little more than $18,000 in cash that tested positive for a strong odor of marijuana, Mayo said. The couple signed whats known as an abandonment form stating that they do not claim the money as their own, he said.

Yeah, I’ve thought about flying out to CO or OR or CA and loading up a car full. You could get rich quick! Then I lay down until the feeling goes away.

This sounds like one of the parallel investigation type deals.
As in...They(feds) illegally wiretap this couple and when they know they are in possession of something illegal or money, they contact the local PD who then makes up an excuse(following too closely) to pull them over. Once the dogs alert, the game is up.

I guess losing $18,000 in cash is a cost of business in the drug industry. Someone’s still not going to be happy. I wonder if the cartel will step forward to claim the cash?

As I have stated several times on this forum: Every adult resident of CA can grow 6 plants to maturity and keep the proceeds.
This couple was legal to grow 12 plants, which if done outdoors in proper conditions could result in at least 10 pounds of clean buds per plant.
60 pounds may have been only 1/2 of THIS YEAR’S crop.

LOL
The WOD, Marijuana Front...is over. There is just no way to contain that much pot. It will flood every nook and cranny of the nation, in volume.

They had pot while driving in one direction and then had money while driving in the opposite direction. Nope, not small time dealers at all.
They have been spotted and the license plate is in the system. They need to find another way to travel other than through Nebraska.
To: Responsibility2nd
Methinks they ain’t too bright but their employer(s) ain’t much brighter having these folks mule for them.
