Commuters will be forgiven for thinking that there is absolutely no good side to Oxford Circus.
But a series of striking birds-eye-view snaps by aerial photographer Jason Hawkes can safely prove that indeed there is.
Mr Hawkes, who takes helicopter flights over the capital, captures the city at it's very best angles and at a comfortable distance from the hustle and bustle of Trafalgar Square.
Each spectacular shot showcases the city in a different light; from mist-shrouded vistas of the City, to bustling the bustling crowds of a Justin Bieber concert.

From far enough away, Londonistan looks OK.
Gorgeous photos. And when youre up there, no truck bombs.
This is why so many are delusional and out of touch. The closer to the street one gets, the reality sets in.
Beautiful pics, where’s Londonistan? call to prayer for the little faggots facing their meteorite moon goddess from hell?
Then the trick is to float above it all. A great position from which to drop water balloons.
The evening/nighttime pictures of London are beautiful.
(Hard to believe so many people got to a Justin Bieber concert, though...)
You make an excellent point.
I’ve always been awed by people who can create photographic art - composition, sharpness, exposure. And to get to some of the positions they get to in order to achieve their art... Just amazing and awe-inspiring.
So much of that looks like very fine watercolor pictures. Some just surrealistic.
Definitely, worthy of wall-hanging.
I’d like to think that’s how we’ll all
get to view this world in the next life; the beauty, not the rot.
Reminds me of French Impressionist. It actually depicts something, but you couldn’t care less what it is while you’re wildly careening through the image.
Let’s do our part to make this world as beautiful as it can be. I guess that means hiding all Democrats.
LOL!
A beautiful thread. Thanks for all the pretty pictures.
Mairdie, you’re a connoisseur and purveyor of fine photography.
You are most welcome, AZ. I love art and I’ve been collecting these links for years. I tried gathering the best images together and using them for the treadmill but, alas, then I never got to watch them. I stuffed many into music videos and that did help. But these threads make it possible to just skim from top to bottom for a moment, sigh, and go back to whatever it is I’m working on, so I’m enjoying it greatly. Enjoyment is always best when you can glance to the side and share a smile with someone over something wonderful you’re both seeing. Thanks for glancing back.
Oh, if you want to be on my PING list for these, please let me know.
Mary
