Genovation, an engineering skunkworks based in Rockville, Maryland, is almost ready to show its Corvette-based electric sports car. The company has confirmed the debut will take place next month at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show.
Called the Genovation Extreme Electric (GXE), the car in prototype form hit a top speed of 209 mph during testing back in February. It also hit a standing mile record speed for electric cars of 190.4 mph.

I think most know that Electric cars are all show and no go.
Battery tech is just about the worst bet you can make.

Think of the environmental disaster when all those corrosive batteries end up in the landfills.
I don’t doubt it’s performance, but call me old school. I’m not buying a Ford GT with a V6 or an electric Vette.
That's already against the law.

Don’t care. Corvettes and other high power cars need to be loud, end of story.
Back in 1978 at Watkins Glen I got to stand directly behind a 12 cylinder F1 Ferrari as the mechanics tuned it up. From a distance of about 12 feet the sound was overwhelming and glorious. The thought of electric cars hissing around a race track or down streets is depressing.
This article highlights how EV’s aren’t just about environmentalism. They are also about performance and prestige.
Not to mention making them, and those pesky little unstoppable fires that happen they they get punctured.
I’m still stuck in 2 stroke world! :)
Without regulations requiring curtailment of CO2 and the concomitant tax bennies for the rich for liberal pet anti-CO2causes, the raison d’être for electric vehicles and energy storage (to store windmill and solar power) goes away. Without those props, there is no market for large batteries for EVs. This is the ultimate corporate welfare.
Of course you still need batteries for your computers, phones, tablets, and power tools, but that market is very small.
Wahhh...Ring..ding..ding..ding..
Eventually the batteries will be recycled. At this point it’s not economical for lithium ions.
Back in about 1963 or so, I was a corner monitor at VIR in Danville VA.
I watched in amazement as Corvettes were badly beaten by Austin healys and TR4’s and god forbid, a datsun. The corvettes just couldn’t stay on the track at speed.
Corvettes are for looking at...... not for racing

The car in this article can go 0 to 60 in 3 seconds and has a top speed over 200mph.

What do you think of the performance of the Nissan GTR and that V6 ??
Super performance that sounds like a V6.
Vettes need a complete redesign and a mid-ship engine. The basic shape goes back to 1968. It’s so 20th century!
IT’S Sacrilege to
Plug in a Corvette!
I was mostly a Yamaha man back then but I always lusted after The Kawasaki triple 750cc.
