I worked for years in a big city ER.Like all such ERs we had what we called "frequent fliers"...meaning regular patients.People like the homeless,the mentally ill,as well as people with serious,chronic conditions (cancer,for example).
one of our frequent fliers was a woman in her 60's (this is in the 80's) who had had a lobotomy in the 50's.She was a woman who was,I assure you,totally devoid of feelings of pressure and stress.She was also totally devoid of many basic mental capabilities....
