My wife works for a large financial services firm that has a contract with the state of Delaware. They (her company) just sent an email to their contract employees at the state site telling them that they would be getting a $1000 bonus in the upcoming weeks. They specifically mentioned it is due to the just signed changes in the tax code.
Now here is the funny part; Delaware is pretty much a lost cause for conservatives and the employees are predominantly African American locals. My wife and I are strong Trump supporters and I have warned her not to get into political discussions at work (she knows anyway). Today however, one of her colleagues, a Trump hater, came to her and asked if she had seen the email. My wife said ‘Yes’ and blurted out ‘Thank you Trump’. The guy paused for a second or two and said ‘Yup’, before walking away.
Folks, we’re slowly winning this battle. The tax changes may not be the panacea and it needs more work, but this is bringing changes to people in a very personal way. A brilliant first step by Trump.

I have to think this $1000 bonus thing is by arrangement. Too many companies presenting the same generosity in too short a time. Maybe not, but I suspect it’s the result of a few well-placed phone calls from high up.
