I have to think this $1000 bonus thing is by arrangement. Too many companies presenting the same generosity in too short a time. Maybe not, but I suspect it’s the result of a few well-placed phone calls from high up.

Absolutely, the administration has been working with leaders in the business community since Inauguration Day. Probably dozens of other ‘work streams’ are in play since then too.

AT&T, 5/3rd and Wells Fargo were likely pre-arranged.

Now it a competition thing because Comcast, BoA and other want the PR and the recruiting advantage for 2018.

If you declare the bonus guaranteed at the board/mgmt level by 12/31/17, you get to take a 40% tax deduction vs 25% with next year (with state and local). A lot of mgmt teams are talking about it.

Easier than selling Swamp Republicans (hat tip to someone) the tax bill was in their interest. No brainer for large corporate employers. The cost is a pittance next to the morale, PR and other obvious benefits.

President Trump is the game-changer. God willing, in the nick of time.

Time is still against us. DJT is chalking up an unbelievable number of victories. But they’re mostly tactical. From altitude we remain on a seemingly inalterable trajectory towards unfathomable disaster.

We need to be working really hard, thoughtfully, on devising and putting together the living machinery that will outlive two Trump terms. Without which we ultimately, inevitably lose.

Anyone know where FReepers can sign up? We have immense human resources on our side in this struggle. Our greatest advantage over the Left; so many immensely talented patriots no less passionate than those who put everything on the line to give us our republic.

I hope the PTB of this infrastructure plumb well and deep FR’s brain and talent pool.

No, it just makes business sense. They offset higher rate taxed income in 2017. If they wait until 2018, they are offsetting lower rate taxed income and the return is therefore less for the same outlay.
