A top member of President Trump’s outside legal team called Tuesday for the appointment of a separate special prosecutor to look into potential conflicts of interest involving Justice Department and FBI officials.
Jay Sekulow made the call following a Fox News report revealing that the wife of a DOJ official demoted for concealing his meetings with the firm behind the anti-Trump “dossier” herself worked for the same firm, Fusion GPS, during the 2016 election.
Sekulow told Fox News that a special prosecutor should be appointed to look into these issues. A group of House Republicans for months has called for the appointment of a second special counsel to probe certain Obama and Clinton-related controversies, something Attorney General Jeff Sessions is reviewing.
When asked Tuesday about the Sekulow call, Sessions noted he’s already ordered that review following the prior call from members of Congress.
“I’ve put a senior attorney, with the resources he may need, to review cases in our office and make a recommendation to me ... if things aren’t being pursued that need to be pursued, if cases may need more resources to complete in a proper manner, and to recommend to me if the standards for a special counsel are met,” he said, calling that the “appropriate” course.

The article fails to mention those Republicans just happen to be the DOJ oversight committees in both the House and Senate.
Another special counsel to investigate mueller. And another for Lynch/Clinton tarmac meeting. One for Seth Rich/wasserman/podesta murder and cover up.

Just running out the clock until his fellow swamp dwellers can oust Trump.
Won’t be long before the MSM will claim this is proof of obstruction, when the only obstruction is obviously within the DOJ, with McCabe refusing to testify today, etc.

That's a fair take, considering Rosenstein appointed Mueller in less than 24 hours of being given the option, on far less evidence of an actual crime. And this MUST be an independent counsel investigation, considering its investigating the DOJ itself. I say outsource the whole thing to Judicial Watch!
Since this is DC, would not surprise me if a second Special Council populated itself with Democratic donors, abandoned its original purpose and also went after Trump (in some manner).
I think this is way Team Trump wanted to let Sessions know he better get moving on it, or else, while keeping the President somewhat insulated from more obstruction claims.
The second special counsel needs to be appointed by TRUMP himself. A VERY LARGE special counsel comprised of non-swamp members.
The DOJ needed to be gutted months ago.
For Pete’s sake, NO more special counsel investigations. Get some honest investigators from existing agencies. Not as if we don’t have enough committees and bureaucrats already.

There’s a reason why Trump hired him. Sekulow is a heavyweight. He started his career as a tax trial attorney for the IRS. He’s argued cases before the Supreme Court a dozen times.
It might be better for Sessions to appoint a special prosecutor since Sessions has recused himself from the Russia issue, and this would deflect from the 100% certain-to-happen slander that Trump doing so would be retaliatory or even obstruction (as ridiculous as that is, because we know that’s exactly what the Democrats and leftwing media will say).
What evidence do you have of your accusation?
Sessions is refusing to step down and refusing to do his job.
If he hasn’t un-recused himself in the face of this russian collusion hoax, he’s certainly not going to appoint another special counsel to investigate the O’muslim treason regime. He’s compromised.
Trump needs more competent representation.
The Department of Justice and the FBI are in desperate need of a good mucking out.

Sekulow actually uses the term comprehensive immigration reform...that we can’t realistically deport ll million illegal aliens. That the best way to combat corruption in the swamp is through personnel replacement. Nothing like bringing the high treason conspirators to justice...No.
