If I recall, they use a rotan to cane him with. They space those strokes out so that one is done per month. It takes that long to recover.
If we really wanted to stop crime in this country, caning would be a normal form of punishment. IT HURTS .. I’ve seen it in Singapore (at Changi) .. doing a little jail time is a cake walk ... 4 strokes of the cane and you don’t want to do any more petty crime!
