Don’t remember Saudi Arabian ancient art that. Mostly studied surrounding areas. Thanks for the term.

The last 1.7M year long ice age “only” ended 17,000 years ago, my guess is 10,000 years ago that area was probably wetter and greener.

[singing] Shuwaymis, how we love ya, how we love ya, our dear old Shuwaymis...
Thanks mairdie. This is literally the only topic of its kind on FR, according to the search engine results. Let's make this the weekly Digest ping as well.

You’re funny.

I just can’t understand how they valued dogs then and grew to hate dogs now.

That's easy. One word. One name. One hate-filled pedophile came along and convinced enough people that he was Holy, and that nothing he did could ever be criticized, and thus anything he did or didn't like must be emulated. The fact that Mohammed hated dogs is just further proof of the depth of his Evil.

Those carving are from thousands of years ago. Mohammed didn't infect the planet until a few hundred years ago.

They like them...with potatoes, gravy and a cold pitcher of goats milk.

I still can’t understand how they’d choose HIM over a brown-eyed pooch that trembles all over with its love for a person.

Looks like it could be a take-out menu from certain parts of ancient Asia.

That’s pretty neat. I know the text says they look like Canaan dogs but to my eye they really don’t. (I see Canaan dogs fairly frequently). The closest breed (to my eye) is the Basenji . The dogs in the images are smallish and short legged, not particularly Canaan-like.
