The recent Texas church shooting, the terrorist driving a truck through a crowd in New York City, and the Las Vegas massacre may seem shocking – but to anyone who has been paying attention, they should not. Our culture is undergoing a hostile takeover. American society used to be governed by Judeo-Christian do-unto-others morals. But we have drifted (been pushed, really) into a hedonistic YOLO (You Only Live Once) cultural morass. The upshot of this is a distinct lack of respect for human life in general, as well as a pervasive, insidious obsession with self.

This is the “me” generation, the “selfie” culture, the “entitlement” mentality. And what is entitlement, except the narcissistic assumption of deserving and demanding what is not earned?

Secular folks often don't seem to realize that much good in secular society is because of Cristian values or even just acceptance of Gods basic laws.

Now, they reject and are puzzled because wickedness steps in place of it.It's simple and they don't know it unless we can reach and teach.

Yup, it’s a spiritual war. The forces of darkness, embodied in the satanic spirit of antichrist and manifested and “progressed” by the Left means to do exactly what Jesus said Satan, the thief, is here to do: “Kill, Steal , and Destroy” (John 10:10).

On the other hand, Jesus, the Light of the world, is here to bring life and life more abundantly (id.).

The umpire is man - he chooses who to go with and trust. Man without Jesus Christ, is bound by the dictates of the world, the flesh, and the devil. Although man without Jesus Christ thinks he’s ruling himself, in fact he is the helpless pawn of the infinitely smarter Satan and his subtleties.

Since the end of the 19th century, the world has turned away from trusting God saying, as prophesied by Jesus, “I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing” (Rev 3:17) - ie. “Thanks God, we don’t really need you now, we’ll take it from here...” The results of course have been disastrous as man in his professed upward climb has in fact descended to slavish dependence on man and man’s government. He is, in fact as Jesus said, “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, and doesn’t know it” (id.).

But God is moving across the dark waters of this world as he did in the beginning and speaking light. The “Grace Revolution “ is sweeping across his saints, the church, and I believe He’s preparing to once again make America a beacon of hope and a light of salvation around the world.

The End is soon, but not yet. Satan is going to have to wait. I believe God is getting ready for the last end-time in-gathering of souls from around the world (Luke 14:32) BEFORE that “great and terrible day of the Lord” (Joel 2:28-32; Zephaniah 1:14-18; Malachi 4).

So until He comes to take us to be with him, may we be ambassadors of Christ ministering the word of reconciliation to souls as lights in a dark place “so His house might be filled” (Luke 14:32) before he comes to take his saints out of this world and it all comes crashing down.

You are exactly right. Obsessed with self is the essence of sin. I look at all the corruption in Washington and the sex sins being exposed and a lot of the culture today and I think - there is little respect for the virtues. Since when does a woman get berated for promoting modesty? Or all the beer and booze commercials - what about temperance. Discipline, frugality, respect for life - they all seem to be dirty words these days and people who speak of them are mocked. Well we are certainly seeing the filthy underbelly of what we have turned into. God help us and our children. Our days are filled with thousands of choices. Are we pleasing God or satan?
